Barb, I would like to discuss your family ties to the Rondeau's and ask you about your Joseph Everett Pryor. My family may connect somewhere. I am a descendent of the KING's of the area (Massac, Pope counties in IL and Livingston Co., KY). Everitt was a name used in one of my King family uncles. We have never known where the name came from. I am also a descendent of the BERRY line, probably the Berry's that had the Berry's Ferry, but again can not make the connection. My GGgrandmother was Matilda Ann Berry King, wife of James Henry KING. Matilda died Nov 1881 in Bay City, Jackson Precinct, Massac Co., IL. She is buried at Farmer's Hall cemetery, Massac Co., IL. One of James and Matilda's son's (according to family hearsay), Jeff King, was a commercial fisherman, lived in a houseboat, and may have lived on the island you are seeking info on.
