Well folks, it's another cool, crisp autumn day in southern Indiana. I'd like some help with this family, they were in southern Pope, then over into Massac County [1920 census]. After that who knows. Caleb Otto Jennings [son of Elijah Jennings & Mary Jane Soward] born 1873, died ?, married Mary Ella Bonnell in 1893. She was the dau. of Oscar Bonnell & Elizabeth Flannery. Mary Ella was alive in April 1948 and living in Caseyville, IL when her brother died. Known children were: Paul Wayne d. 1939; Ruth m. Oscar Ablert in 1912; Sophia m. Dallas Abbott in 1918; Willis; Edgar Lee; Heskil Elas; & Leon. I'd appreciate any help with this family and I'd like to get in touch with anyone related to them. Thanks, Judy Judy Foreman Lee UdyDee43@aol.com
Does anyone know the founder, history, or which Roberts' family this is? I saw a photo of its employees in the Pictorial History of Massac County, Volume II and wondered if it could be tied to my John Roberts. The photo also included a Taylor WOODWARD. My John Roberts was born abt 1808, died Feb 1890, was married to Lucinda ADAMS. Their daughter Mary Ann (Mollie) Roberts was born 1842 Pope County, and married (1) Benjamin F. WOODWARD and (2) Daniel RISINGER PRYOR, the Baptist Preacher. John Roberts' other daughter, Lucinda Roberts, married Pryor's brother, Francis (Frank) Marion English Pryor, who was killed in the Battle of Atlanta, Civil War. And I believe, a third daughter, Vernetta (Nettie) Roberts LAWRENCE, married another brother, Thomas Lewis PRYOR. All the John Roberts' are giving me much confusion. Can anyone help? Thanks much Barb Diehl P.O. Box 510092 St. Louis MO 63151-0092 bdiehl@bsda-transit.org

Other Surnames: GIBBS, JEFFORDS, RISINGER, ROBERTS, The following is extracted from Probate File # 1864-P-022, Massac Co. on my ancestor. Daniel R. (RISINGER) Pryor notified the Probate Court that Daniel F. Pryor of Massac Co. had died 28 December 1863, that his estate was probably worth $350, no widow survived him, and the heirs were his children Mary S. Pryor, Anson G. (GIBBS) Pryor, Robert M. (Morgan) Pryor, John M. (Morgan) Pryor, Thomas L. (Lewis) Pryor, Francis M.E. (Marion English) Pryor, Daniel R. (RISINGER) Pryor, Samuel Pryor and Martha BARNETT. The Administrator's Bond for $700 was issued to Daniel R. Pryor and John ROBERTS of Massac Co. The list of personal property sold included hogs, corn, molasses, plows, furniture, a grindstone, a kettle and washtub, a pair of glasses, a hymn book, a History of the U.S. book, 5 lots of school books, and many carpenters' tools. The sale brought about $950 and many items were purchased by family members. The Probate File included copies of two notes D. F. Pryor had signed, one to Robert MORRIS for 12 months for $258.90 dated 20 Oct 1859, and one to John F. STEWART for $59.00 dated at New Liberty Sept 8, 1858, due in 20 days. There are 5 receipts signed by A. GIBBS, agent for R. MORRIS, for monies paid by Daniel R. Pryor to Ezra JEFFORDS and GIBBS for debts of the deceased. Receipt signed by K.T. LEEPER, for $1.00 paid by Daniel R. Pryor for crying the sale. Recept signed by J.A. SHEARER for Wm GOOD for $8 for coffin, and a receipt signed by J.A. SHEARER for $6.75 for burial apparrel. The Administrator, his son, got into a little trouble with Probate Court for not accounting promptly on the Estate. He promised to do better, and the Bond was increased to $900.00, signed by Daniel R. Pryor, John ROBERTS, Jr., and Ezra JEFFORDS. All the surnames at the top of this message married into the Pryor family. Daniel Farley Pryor was born in VA in 1799 (probably Amelia County). His father was John A. Pryor and his mother was probably Martha VAUGHN. His father served in Revolutionary War and moved the family to KY about 1790, settling in Louisville. Many of John A. Pryor's children moved to Massac, Pope & Johnson starting about 1813. Probate files are a wonderful source of information not only on the family, but also their possessions tell a story also. If you are related to or have any information on these people, please let me know so we can share. Thanks! Barb Diehl P.O. Box 510092 St. Louis MO 63151-0092 bdiehl@bsda-transit.org

I just wanted to update everyone. I upgraded my McAfee program and ran a scan of virus. It has taken about 3 1/2 hours to scan. It found "7" virus' called M32/BadTrans. I have removed them all. After reading all the (a ton of them I might add) email's from everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the virus was not something I downloaded, it was sent attached to a email address from a family member of mine. Once it was on my computer, it hooked it self to every email address I had. It doesn't do anything bad (from my understanding) but just causes a big headache. Just thought I would share what had happened. First, I want to say I am sorry for sending out a email in one group message, but I wasnt going to type this 30 times. Dear list manager, Please remove me from your list for now. It seems that there is a nasty person going through the mailing list and sending out some kind of virus. I have been getting all kinds of email from strangers telling me to "take a look at this file and give me your advice". It requires you to download it. I have not been doing so. I have been deleting the email instead of downloading. Some how, this person(s) has been able to get a hold of my email list form my computer and has been sending the same emails to my family and friends. Some of them with private emails (from work) that are not searchable on the net. Here is a copy of a note I sent to AOL in this problem (it also shows some of the emails I was sent and so were my family and friends): Hello, I don't know what to do. I am getting email like this from a number of different email address'. To make things worse, this person has , somehow, been able to send the same mail to email address' on my buddy list. How is that possible? Some of the email address' I have on my buddy list are through private organizations (work) and not available to the internet public. But these person's are getting them. How do I fix this problem? Here are a few for you to look at that are being sent to me: Subj: M3 Date: 7/24/2001 1:52:08 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: rjkpl@giasbm01.vsnl.net.in (rjkpl) To: adib102684@aol.com File: M3.doc.lnk (279953 bytes) DL Time (34666 bps): < 2 minutes Subj: 1843 Date: 7/24/2001 3:14:18 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: tblack1@houston.rr.com (black ted) To: ADib102684@aol.com File: 1843.doc.lnk (273637 bytes) DL Time (34666 bps): < 2 minutes Subj: send list Date: 7/24/2001 9:44:57 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: jtcreacy@home.com (Tanya Creacy) To: adib102684@aol.com File: sendlist.doc.pif (195757 bytes) DL Time (34666 bps): < 1 minute Hi! How are you? I send you this file in order to have your advice See you later. Thanks (this person jtcreacy is the one I know for a fact that has sent email to my email list from my computer. how did they get my email address? I am the only one that uses my computer and this account. I have not open any mail that requires downloading.) Thank you, Angela DiBlasi I will resubscribe to you in a few weeks.
