Sally, Thank you ever so much for the info on the Lunbecks. I have passed your information to another researcher who is a decendant of Olive. This l This is my husbands line and he is decended from Marry(Mary) Lunbeck who married John Thieke. Their dau, Dora mar. Thomas Minter of Massac Co. Due to some very bad spelling mistakes in the 1800 Massac Census I 'think' Thomas Minters parents were Wesley Minter and Laura J. Minter. The 1900 census lists Laura J Minter as his mother. Father gone. Now on the Ill. marriage index there was a Wesley Minter who mar. Laura Johnson Askins. in Massac Co in 1878. I didn't put Laura down for most wanted surnames because I am not sure if it is Johnson or Askins. I have run across some more unbelieveable middle names than Johnson for females. Thank you again, Barb

My Father played the Fiddle and my Grandfather Jesse Morrison born in Pine Creek Twp, Ogle county,IL. played the Fiddle plus Guitar. Do not know if music is in the genes or not. But my three siblings plus my self all played two or more musical instruments. My mans cousin bought me a Fiddle in 1980's. Told my 79 yr old uncle i was going to learn to play it. He gave me a big smile and said " Dont know if you will dear thats a tough instrument to play'. But i was determined to learn one song on it and i did. On his 80th birthday party when he walked in my door i picked up the fiddle and played Happy Birthday to him. He got the biggest grin and said " I didnt think you would do it doll". Lost that uncle last winter at age 87. Now only one blood aunt left alive but neither of them knew any thing genealogy wise. Thank you. Viola.

Bill, Yes, Joseph Manuel's parents were Samuel OLIVER & Mary "Polly" McMAHAN. I would love to share as much information with you as I can. I have a fairly good amount on the OLIVERs, so-so on the McMAHANs, and next to nothing on the TAYLORs. What is the best way for you, ged-com, descendancy chart? Just let me know, I am more than willing to adjust. Hello Cousin Susan, I hope you noticed in the Zion Church history the "infant of Oscar" buried in the cemetery. And, oh yes!! If Joseph Manuel OLIVER's father was Samuel we are DNA relatives. I want to share OLIVER info with you. And, McMAHAN, and TAYLOR. In collateral and blood relationships SOIL folk sure are intra-related. What a wonderful day. Bill, I just went out and checked out the website you mentioned. The afore mentioned cousin, Linda Byrd, photocopied the history for me. I thought that it all looked familiar to me, so I checked my copy, and sure enough, it's what I had! Mary Jo, Yes, that Charlie WELLS is one of mine as well. I wasn't aware that Ollie Jane was a BRUSH, though. I have another BRUSH in my family, Rutha, who married William Oscar WELLS, Charlie's brother. I only have minimal information on Charlie & Ollie's children, and would love to share information with you. Bill, I guess I should say hello cousin! Your Richy Oliver was the brother of my 4th great grandfather, Joseph Manuel Oliver. I was just at Zion Cemetery and saw Richy's grave, but I was unaware that he was one of the circuit ministers for Zion. I've gotten lots of information from another cousin, Linda Byrd Oliver, who lives near Vienna. Up until this last summer, I didn't know anything about my Olivers beyond my great-grandma. Seems like I have hit the jackpot this year in finding cousins. I would love to share information sometime! Susan

Hello Susan, go to http://home.att.net/~wnoliver/zionill.htm There you will find those who buried in the Zion Cemetery, Pope county as of 1916. Bill Oliver, Yes, if you please, I would appreciate having my surnames on the site. Is there something else that I need to do? A question - was Johnson County to be included? What counties were originally with Massac? Are there others?
