    1. 1860 Census Request
    2. Hi List, My great grandfather Joseph E. Jackson stated when he enlisted in Co. K, 85th Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry that his post office at time of enlistment was Topeka, Illinois in Mason Co. He served from August 27 1862 mustering outat Peoria in June 5, 1865 as a private. Could someone look up Joseph E. in the 1860 census and tell me what household he was living in? His father's given name was Andrew and his mother's Mary (Seagle). His military papers state that he, his father and mother were born in PA. He claims to have been born in "St. Pettersburg". On an old PA map I found a St. Petersburg in York Co but it is not there today and today the only St Petersburg is in Clarion Co, PA. I doubt that he was Quaker but he may have been. I would appreciate any help. Paul Price
