My great-grandmother Susan Emmeline WURTZBAUGH married James Philip SAMPSON in Mason County, IL in 1881. From her death certificate I know her father's name was Michael Wurtzbaugh and family history has it that he died in the Civil War. I have 2 pictures of him, one as a younger man with a young woman, and one of him as an older man with a different, older woman, presumably a second marriage. On the back of the second picture it says "Grandma Alice and Grandpa WURTZBAUGH". I searched the LDS site today and found a Nathaniel Wurtzbaugh listed with the information that he also was married in Mason County on November 26, 1857. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
