I am curious to know if there is a source of obituaries for the Havana area in the 1880s. I am looking for info on my great-great grandfather, Washington TEVIS/TIVIS. He also went by George W. and John W. He died December 1, 1887 in Bath, Illinois. Thank you.

Does anyone know if the Havana Library has updated its photo file of newspapers through the 1920s. My grandparents lived there in the 20's, when my father was a boy. I am trying to find accounts of a significant business-related event in their lives. It would have been the newspaper, because it was reported to have even been in the Chicago paper. But I don't know how to access the newspapers. The time I visited there, the newspapers had been photographed (microfiche) to sometime in the teens.
