They lived in Mason County, Illinois in 1860. The census lists the family as follows: James, age 45; Sarah (wife) age 48; Rebecca, age 19; William, age 18; John, age 16; James, age 14; Joseph, age 10; George H., age 8. I also show several children of James Wallace marrying in Mason County. They are as follows: Nancy Jane Wallace married Elias Pounds on 19 June 1856, Mason Co., IL. Benjamin Franklin Wallace married Sarah Blakely on 28 August 1859 in Mason Co. John Wesley Wallace married Rachel Pounds (sister of Elias Pounds) in September of 1870 in Mason Co. I do know the above mentioned three children came to Kansas in the 1870's, but don't know if James Wallace and his wife came with them. Any information anyone might have on this family would be greatly appreciated. James Wesley Wallace is my great-great-great-grandfather and I know virtually nothing about him but his name.
