My apologies for the multiple posting but as I have sparse reference to the person/family of John Whitehand( from 1853- 1870 in all of these counties- embracing Land Grant 1853, some Marriages and Wills ( Though not, unfortunately all of the apparent multiple marraiages or Births).Neither do I have location of Deaths/Burials .. It would appear that all of my references may apply to John , His Son by the same name and two siblings. William and Margaret.. The latter two married in Audrain ,MO and Gibson TN.. As the WHITEHAND name is relatively rare ( and even more so in US ) I have little doubt that this family have common links but would appreciate any additional information or References.. As an Idea of the "thin line" have a look at.. http://www.vicnet.net.au/whitehaj/usmigr.htm Thank you for your Tolerance and trust your will keep the name in mind during your own research Regards, from DOWNUNDER John -- John Whitehand 'phone +61 3 9314 5306 West Footscray 3012 AUSTRALIA http://www.vicnet.net.au/~whitehaj/welcome.htm "co-operation achieves- competition destroys"

Kathy & all list members: Thanks Kathy for your help. Would it be the city clerk or the county clerk in Havana that would have death records of the 1950 time period?? I have an obit May 1979 of Dora RICHTER's son stating he was buried at the Richter Family Cem. I have never been to Mason Co. but the son worked & I believe lived in Mason City. Where would the death records be if they lived in Mason City?? Would anyone have phone numbers for the clerks office?? Geraldine "Desperate in MO" ----- Original Message ----- From Kathy: I think that the Gen society is a separate agency but is housed in the library. I have five of the cemetary books, but only one entry for the name Richter. Johan B. Richter, died Feb 11, 1882, age 39 years,6 mo, 5 days who was buried in Cherry Grove. Have you contacted the city clerks office about death records for the 1950's?
