I am searching for a John W. Schoonover from Illinois and he married a Mary ellen story or mcfarland in Gallatin Illinois and had at least one boy named George Schoonover. Time frame was 1885 -1910. Thanks e-mail me direct
Would the person researching the Gutterman and McDaniel family have anything on Martin & Hannah Rebecca Beal McDaniel and Amos and Nancy DeWalt McDaniel? Roberta Summers.
Looking for info on family tree, is there a web site available?
My William's father was probably also William. He had a sister named Hannah who married a Breeze and probably anothe sister who married a Hull. If any of this sounds familiar, we could compare info.
I guess I'm behind times but I just heard of this site called Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness at http://raogk.rootsweb.com/index.html and have signed up as a volunteer. It's only once a month and I thought some of the rest of you might be interested. Dottie

I am looking for any available census info on George Washington TEVIS/TIVIS b.1826 (first name may be listed simply as "Washington"). He died in Bath, Mason County on December 1, 1887. Could possibly resided in Fulton County at some point, also. Also interested in any info on Ellen TEVIS/TIVIS...could be his wife. Thank you. Patrice Frantz ronaldfrantz@earthlink.net

Jeanne - darn, knew your name was familiar but didn't spend the time to remember. Just super kind of you to post the message, so much appreciated. Regards, Nancy
Hi Nancy! I put that message in there to help you find the death dates of James and Catherine. You had asked me to do a look up in my cemetery books for you in April. Sorry, I can't help you! Bye! Jeanne
We have also been looking for their death records without success but were looking in Fulton Co. Did they move over to Mason Co with son, John E and his family? Would like to share anything you have of the Rilea family, they have been so difficult to trace.
I would suggest you send for a copy of the marriage license. Mason County clerks were good about filling in the blank of parents names etc and they began doing this around 1880. I am new to this list and I am looking for info on the following people: William Gillfillian b.1847/48 Illinois m.8-5-1879 Havana, Mason Co. Il +Margaret E. Webb b.1861/62 Il. William & Margaret were living in Fulton Co. at the time they married. They had 3 children: two of them I have no info on at all, not even names. The third was my ggrandmother Mary Alice Gillfillian b.8-5-1886 Banner, Fulton Co. Il. William & Margaret were both deceased by 1901. If anyone has access to the 1850-1870 census available, could they please check for William and his parents (possibly John or James & Martha Gillfillian? and could you also check for Margaret with her parents (no idea who they might be)? Could you also check the 1900 for William and Margaret together? Also if anyone has access to any cemetary records could you please check for them in the listings? Thank you very much for any help. Patricia

I am researching the Waterworth family and all families that marry into them. The earliest came from England and are buried in the Mowder Cemetery. Hope to hear from someone who is also doing this line. Betty
It is generally more helpful when everyone answers each other's research questions on the list. Often several folks, some who might be too shy to post, are looking forward to the answer. A person searching the list archives will also be able to see the answer. It is quite frustrating to find your question and then no answer. Personal responses or responses which contain personal information -- addresses, phone numbers, information about living people in general -- should be done privately. Otherwise, consider answering on the list. Cheryl Rothwell LoganCty@mindspring.com
Joan, If you are referring to Joan Montrose's message of June 18th, I sent a reply directly to her outlining my good experiences in Mason County. Also gave her two web sites on the county and on the library to review. Mel Martin
Joan - I don't remember that question or if it was answered . I will check the mason county boards . Steve H.
I have not been reading the list for a while and was perusing the list tonight. Did anyone answer the lady about doing research in Mason Co.? Joan Surnames in Mason County are Black, Horn, Guenther, Agnew, Hawthorn, Sutley, Dady, Mulford, Forkner
