    2. Nancy, No, I have not found any information on Margaret's first marriage, nor her maiden name. I do have information that Richard Irvin, her son, married Mattie Smith, 2 children, Arthur & Eddie. No dates for any of this though. I think John was born about 1837 judging from census of 1860. Thomas and Margaret were married in 1842. That would most likely mean her original marriage was about 1836. It's possible husband Irvin, Margaret and John could be found on the 1840 census. I have not pursued it as I am currently more interested in Thomas J Boring and his birthdate and parents. And when he came to Illinois! BTW, do you know where in California Hattie & grand nephew lived?
