Hi, all..... In July I am planning a visit up to Marion County (I am in Florida)...specifically Salem and Iuka. I would like to go to the Courthouse in Salem and see if I can find some things. Can someone give me some information on it's physical address, and the hours it is open? I would sure be greatful. Also, I'm curious....are the people in the Courthouse friendly and willing to help? I THINK I remember reading once that someone did not think so. Also, can someone give me the address/phone # and times of operation for the Marion County Genealogical Society? What do they have there and are you allowed to look around, and search for things? I appreciate any information you might want to offer. I was there in October at the courthouse and found that hte people at the vaults were very quick to help. The people at the county clerks office were not bad, but also not forthcoming with any help either. I think that thosse who try to correspnd via the US Mail get the most resistance from them.
