Hi Nancy, Thanks for the date for Eli/Ellen Boring. See my previous message for info regarding the marriage of Thomas/Margaret Boring. Regarding Sophie Boring, the copy of her tombstone transcription that I have says Smith, Sophia (w/o T.M.) d. 26 Nov 1893 30 yr 21 da This would seem to match 5 Nov 1863, and my bible date. But without a birth certificate....this information is only as good as the person who provided it at the time of her death. This is from the Allmon/Boring Cemetery Book, and I believe these were transcribed by the Marion County Gen Society. I have nothing on Marion W Boring (but believe him to be male) other than what is listed in the bible pages. He is not listed in the 1860 census abstract I have (which was done by someone else, not me). Because he isn't listed in that census, I believe he died before 1860, and most likely at or soon after birth. Regarding the birth year of Thomas J Boring, who knows! Census records indicate: 1850 he was 41 at the Sept. census 1860 he was 52 at the ?? (don't know when this census was taken) Anyway, with a birthdate of October 3rd, it looks like 1808 or 1807 to me. Where did you get 1804? Both census' indicate TN as birthplace. Keep in touch, Cheryle In a message dated 5/27/01 9:24:13 PM Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: > Cheryle, > > Eli W.
