Hi all-- I have a dab of BLACKBURNs in my database-- John Wesley BLACKBURN, Sr m Sarah MILLER a son of theirs, John Wesley BLACKBURN, Jr b 1862 IL m 29 Apr 1888 LuLu Sumner PAYNE b 22 Feb 1871 Marion Co, IL d 1927 IN LuLu was a dau/o James C. PAYNE and Mary A. E. HARPER (they are my 2g grandparents). James was b 18 Aug 1831 Sumner Co, TN and m Mary 18 Sep 1854 Sumner Co, TN. She was b 17 Sep 1835 Sumner Co, TN and d 2 Sep 1896 Marion Co, IL. James also d Marion Co, IL, but I don't know the date. James' parents were Robert PAYNE (b 11 May 1783 Greene Co, TN, will probated Mar 1857 Sumner Co, TN) and Sarah C. BEARD, d/o Capt. David BEARD (b 1745 VA d 11 Jan 1815 Sumner Co, TN) and Isabella CARSON (b 16 Jan 1745 Bedford Co, VA d 13 Nov 1812 Sumner Co, TN). Mary A.E.'s parents were Stephen HARPER (b 1809 TN? NC?) and Mary Catherine "Nancy" WHITE (b 1813 NC). Mary Catherine's parents were William WHITE and Sarah TYLER. June Woods...this makes us cousins of some sort by marriage!
