    1. Re: [ILMARION] Marion County cemetery books?
    2. Please keep us advised about the Cemetery Books. Will you post the address of any local libraries and an address for the Marion County Genealogical Society? I live in Decatur, GA and need marriages and deaths for Marion Co., between 1900 and 1925. William Gardner moved from Harmony, IN to Marion Co. in 1898. His brother Lester also was living in Kinmundy in 1900 at the age of 10. Lester has simply disappeared. I have found no records for him after the 1900 Census. Mary

    3. Marion County Genealogical Society P. O. Box 341 Salem, IL 62881 The genealogical library is downstairs in the public library in Salem, IL. It is open with volunteers to help people search for ancestors on Wednesdays 12-4 p. m. In the most recent issue of "Footprints in Marion County" three cemetery books are available: Marion County Cemetery Inscriptions with Genealogical Notes, Book # 1, and # 2 and # 3. They were $37.50 each with shipping, but I am not sure if the postal rates caused them to have to increase the $2.50 shipping they were charging. I heard that "media mail" increased at a higher rate than first class mail with the most recent postal rate increase. These books each have an index with surname and first name. Each book is probably around 400 pages more or less, counting the index. They recently published a marriage book covering Marion Co. marriages 1888-1931. I don't see it listed in the most recent publication of "Footprints" so I am not positive they still have copies for sale. You might write and inquire, or maybe someone local who is on this list knows the latest on the supply. I can't find William or Lester Gardner in any of the books that I have. Dot
