I attempted to look up the microfilm on FHC that would contain the naturalization records for my ancestors, but the only reel they have covers the period 1862-1906. I was hoping to review the 1850s. When was Marion founded? Is there another county that should be checked for the 1850s, or am I at a death end on this line of research?
The information I have is that Marion County, Illinois was formed in 1823. From the maps I have of the county formation in Illinois it does not look like the boundries of Marion County ever changed once it was formed. Can't answer the question of other places to you might find this information.
