Hello everyone, Since we're on the topic of Courson cemeteries, if you have Courson ancestors you need to go to this site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/oh/tombpics/licking/bowlinggreentwp/courso ncem/coursoncem.htm How these photos came to be is quite unbelievable. Last week someone on this list asked me a question about the Courson cemetery in Marion Co., Illinois, which got me thinking about a letter I rec'd in 1979 from someone in Ohio telling me about a Courson cemetery in Licking Co., Ohio. At the time, she said it was grown over and the headstones were fallen over and most broken and unreadable. Anyway, just for the fun of it I went on Ebay and searched for anything on Licking Co., and came up with a book on cemeteries. I won the book, and the seller emailed me on Friday to ask if I had family in Licking Co....I told him I did back in the early to mid-1800's and that I had heard about this cemetery but had never seen photos. He emailed me back and said if I could give him an idea of where it was, he'd go find it for me and take photos! Well, lo and behold, I gave him some rough directions and on Saturday he emailed me and said it was the most difficult cemetery he had ever had to find, but he found it and took photos and posted them to the above site. Peter Courson and his wife Nancy Layton are the first two stones shown, and they look in pretty good shape. First chance I get I'm buying this gentleman his favorite drink. What a lucky turn of events.
