    2. James Davis is my third great grandfather. He is supposed to be buried in Eagan cemetary, Tonti Township, Marion County, Illinois. Does anyone know the location of this cemetary? Is he listed in the cemetary books for Marion County? How large is this cemetary? Thank you Glenn Payton

    3. Go here for maps of county boundaries as they evolved: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcumber/ilctybnd/index.htm It would indicate that Marion was formed in 1823. I didn't look at the boundaries. As for naturalization, about which I know Zip since my ancestors came pretty early, there is information online. Try places like Rootsweb.com, FTM, ancestry, etc. I believe all of them have some areas where they have free information on where to look for what and so on. 3. The information I have is that Marion County, Illinois was formed in 1823. From the maps I have of the county formation in Illinois it does not look like the boundries of Marion County ever changed once it was formed. Can't answer the question of other places to you might find this information. 3. I attempted to look up the microfilm on FHC that would contain the naturalization records for my ancestors, but the only reel they have covers the period 1862-1906. I was hoping to review the 1850s. When was Marion founded? Is there another county that should be checked for the 1850s, or am I at a death end on this line of research?

To see what is available go to: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/deathlst.html Keep in mind that this is a volunteer effort and it is going to take some time to get it all done. Also, death certificates are erratic before 1916. Some people got them and some didn't. There doesn't seem to be any logic to who did and who didn't. 1. [ILMARION] Allsup/Alsup
    2. Hi, I am looking for the correct birth date and death date for Jessie Allsup/Alsup (daughter of Frederick Allsup and Martha Littrell). Jessie married James Albert Payne. I had 1872 as her birth date and abt. 1893 as her death dates. Can't remember my source. However, I now believe she was born Dec 12, 1871. And died Sept 28, 1892. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks, Diane Payne
