I have Norton, which I run about once a week. Macs are usually immune to most viruses and this attachment virus is the first one that has caught me. I don't normally send virus warnings, in fact I spend a lot of time hoax-busting. However, it seemed important to warn other listmembers about the danger. The member who wrote to me off the list with personal information, had the virus and gave it to me, I'm sure, unintentionally. The line at the end of her email said "take a look at the attachment." Then I wrote back to ask what format the file was and the reply again had the sentence "take a look at the attachment." The first file was named news_doc.scr. The second one named SETUP.pif; I don't usually open attachments unless I know the person, but this "attachment" is VERY sneaky. After I opened the attachments -- which were gibberish -- my computer did several strange things, like refusing to print, stalling and freezing. A run of Norton seems to have cleared it up. However, since two or more of us have been infected, I still feel the list needs to be warned not to open either of these attachments. Cheryl, My great grandmother, Melissa Boughers Gray, had a sister that married a Helm. Amanda Ellen Boughers married John Franklin "Frank" Helm. This was a second marriage for Amanda and there were no children. I believe Frank's parents were John Franklin Helm and Margaret Sherman. Frank and Amanda are both buried in Evergreen cemetery in Kinmundy. The Boughers were in the Loogootee area in Fayette Co. before moving to Kinmundy. I have a few more details including Amanda's obit if you are interested. I am am old lady who went to Irving School and CTHS. I lived on S Pine in Centralia. I noticed the name Teeters on your list. My Grgrandfather was Benjamin Teets. He owned land in Marion Co in the 1960's until abt abt 1890's. But it's weird, as there is no record of him or his children in Centralia. Did find my Grandfather Andrew Jackson Teets as a business man in Centralia in 1800's. That was true. He was a business man there before he and family moved to TN/ {If youll look at Stoddard Co Mo web or Marion Co Web it gives his bio.} Benjamin's that is. I have also looked and looked for my Grgrandmother Caroline Hoag and my Grgrandfather Peter Hoag in Clinton Co. I have her funeral program from the Presbyterian Church in Clinton Co, but there is no record of either of them. I would guess that is the Presbyterian Church on the W side. I called them to see if maybe they had a record, but no luck. She died in Brookside Twsp, in 1896 but have no idea where she or Peter is buried. I left Centralia in the 1940's. I live in Fl. Do you live in Centralia? I guess not as you were an Army Brat. I have a friend that was an Army Brat. As i recall Shiller was on W side. Part of the time I lived in Centralia. My family lived there even when Mom, Dad and I were overseas and elsewhere stateside. I'm an Air Force brat. My grandmother (on my mother's side) taught first grade at Raccoon and then at Schiller. I went to Schiller for fourth grade. I spent a lot of time there otherwise. My dad's mom and grandmother lived there as well, although they were across the line into Clinton Co. My dad's father's family all lived in Iuka, and some still do. Some of the other family members are up by me now although that was accidental, not a family migration plan. My grandmother's house was at the corner of Beech and Third. Her neighbors were Mrs. Teeters, Mr. and Mrs Willfred Williams, the Spraugues (SP?) and Farks, Battles, Fischers, Justice, and Edwards. I don't remember the others. Where did you live? I know one thing for sure. I will never open another attachment even if I know who it's from. The tech that came out to work on my computer said probably another innocent person had been caught like I was. He said not to open any. I learned an expensive lesson from this!I've just had the computer less than 2 years and would you believe it's the first time I've done that. Yes, Art, I believe we are talking about the same HENSLEYs. I didn't realize that Joseph had so many children, but I did know that Lucy was his 1st wife. I don't have much on Lucy and would like to have more. She was born about 1792 in VA., married Joseph HENSLEY 10 Mar 1808 in Madison Co., KY. Lucy died before 1842 probably in Marion Co., IL. (as you can see I don't have many details). I have Joseph born about 1784 (do you have a document for 1781?). I have that he died 1854, does that give him enough time for all his 2nd set of children? I saw him on a census in 1850 with 2nd family. Do you have a document (record) for his death date & place? I believe that Joseph HENSLEY's parents were Robert HENSLEY and Elinor COVINGTON. and that Lucy's parents were Robert COVINGTON b. 3 Jan 1760 Culpeper Co., VA. m. 1782 Culpeper Co., VA. and d. 10 Aug 1847 Madison Co., KY., and Mary DUNCAN b. 10 Nov 1764 and d. 8 Mar 1841 Madison Co., KY. I believe I received these details secondhand 15-20 years ago. If the above data is correct and the person's conclusion: Joseph and Lucy were first cousins. Yes, William Wallace HENSLEY is a little shadowy. I have that he was born 1827 IL. married 26 Feb 1849 Marion Co., IL. to Mary Ann Caldwell ELDER. I don't know when William died. When his son Clayborn L. HENSLEY died (unmarried) 16 Nov 1875 Salem, Marion Co., OR (Oregon), the whereabout of his father was not known. It also appears that when his wife (Mary Ann) came west with her children (all but Clayborn was mentioned and on the 1880 Marion Co., OR. census), William Wallace did not come west with them. The lead male was William MILLICAN, husband of Alice Antoinette HENSLEY. William and Alice had married 25 Dec 1873 in IL. So, Mary Ann and family had come west between the dates for Alice's marriage and Clayborn's death. >From a photograph of Mary Ann (taken in San Francisco, CA.), I assume she (they?) passed through San Francisco on the way to Oregon. There was a Jsutice family that lived just down the street from my grandmother in Centralia. I think the oldest boy's name was Daniel. My son is a Microsoft Certified Professional working for an international computer systems Corp. and he put Trend PC-Cillin on my computer for me and it has kept me from getting the virus- any virus. I had McAffee and Norton before but they let you download the virus before you find out you have it. The Trend system checks the email at the ISP and cleans/quarantines it before it can infect your system. I am told that it costs $30 to download at www.antivirus.com if anyone needs a better protection system. It has sure saved me. Dear Kay, Saw your note on the page, and while I don't match your information in every point, I am send a small outline of the Hensleys that I have. If you think there is a match we can exchange information with one another. Joseph Hensley (1781854) married Lucy Covington. They are buried at Walnut Hill, Marion, IL. This is where we go into grey. They had a son William W. Hensley, other than his name I don't have anymore information. Joseph and Lucy had some fourteen children and Joseph remarried and had more. At any rate I decend from a brother of William W. Hensley, Samuel Covington Hensley. His first son was William Wallace (Worley) Hensley.
