    3. Hello again ILMAGA. It is nice to be on the list again after several months away. I have been having good success with finding my JACKSON family members in England and do know quite a bit more about their Morgan/Macoupin Co connections that I did before. I know there are several JACKSON families in Morgan Co and so this perhaps will help to weed out the various branches. William Procter JACKSON (b. Nov 27, 1828 Tunstall, Lancashire, England d. Nov 22, 1873, either in Morgan or Macoupin Co IL.) came to Morgan Co sometime between 1851 and 1854. It is likely that he could been a blacksmith as well as being a farmer. He married (1854) Martha Ann BROWN (b.July 21, 1834 d.May 14, 1894). They had 10 children, George W. , Sarah Elizabeth(my gm), John Henry, William Newton, Charles Albert,Margaret Jane, Mary Ann, Frances Isabelle and Thomas M. These children married into the DUGGER, FANNING,MANSFIELD,MUTCH,SOOY families in Morgan Co. Apparently the JACKSONs had a farm in Morgan Co which was confiscated when William died owing a lot of money to his friends and neighbours! I believe this farm was located in Nortonville. I have been unable to locate a death certificate to discover why he died at the age of 45,there is no death certificate that I could find. Aside from trying to find the Jackson descendants there, I am hoping that someone will know about the BROWN family that Martha Ann belonged to. I have gone over all the censuses from 1830 to 1870 and have not been able to figure out which of the Browns she belongs to.At one time there was a Catherine BROWN age 13 living with Martha and William JACKSON. I am guessing this would be a sister of Martha? However, still no clue as to their parents' names. Can anyone help me find them? Thanks, Carol Valantine Dugger Napa, CA
