A later1836 lisense in Moran county for a second marriage of Edward NORTHCUT to Christiana SLAGE did contain a permission for his daughter Christiana to marry Edward signed by Peter SLAGLE. A 1849 Pike Co., IL. lisense for the marriage of Sarah Jane NORTHCUT, (the daughter of Edward and Frances BOWEN NORTHCUT) to Ebenezer FRANKLIN has the father giving his permission, but it is signed with an X and no name is given.
