Nancy, I have several marriage licenses from Menard County. One for 1885 gives the names of the parents. (Wonderful) I have another one for 1886 which asks for parents names but they were both dead, so it was left blank. There is one from 1883 where the bride is underage and the father has to sign, giving his permission. The information is on the back of the license and I wonder if the clerks send all the information. Also, maybe the decision was left to the county about whether to ask for this information.
