    1. [ILMAGA] Auburn Cemetery Report
    2. Hello to all--I wish to write tonight of good news. If you are not able to hear the news. The 103 stone have been uprighted and put back in place. The thanks goes out to Arnold's Monument of Springfield, Illinois and Carlinville Monument of Carlinville, Ill. Each company sent in two men and equipment and Wimmer Cemetery's Alex Decatoire (retired Arnold's Monument employee, who is 83) and George LeConte ( he won't tell his age, but he is 80+) of Auburn started to work early and finish about 3:00 this afternoon. Also the new caretaker Harry Moore assisted. There were a few of the stone which Alex took home to repair with pins and epoxy. They will be repaired shortly. I talked to Alex's wife Mary Ann (president of Wimmer Cemetery Assoc.) and said all went very well and everyone was very tired. I can't believe this could be true, but it is. Thanks to the monument companies and their hoists it got done. Here is the information for anyone who would like to make a donation: Auburn Cemetery 15125 Kennedy Road Auburn, Illinois 62615 Thank you notes to: Arnold Monument Company 1621 W. Thanks to all who responded to my post. The geneaolgy family is the best family in helpping with crisis like this. Please if you can't send money, send a thank you note to the Monument companies, they worked for us for free. They came quickly and repaired these stone, not just set them back on there bases. And Alex and George---they are Wimmer's finest---of course I'm personally proud of them. Jan Gray Co-Historian Wimmer Cemetery Auburn, Illinois gjgrayinc@aol.com
