You all did so well on my need for Roodhouse information, I thought I'd give you a harder challenge. (Thanks to all of you that responded. It's always good to ask people familiar with the area). ++++++++++++ I have just found out that we have a cousin MELVIN WORELD, b. 18-Nov-1893 and d. Oct 1984. It appears that he lived in the area all of his life. His Mother was Grace (Jeffords) ORRIS. She mar. George William ORRIS 14-Oct-1897 in Morgan county, Illinois. WORELD yields no hits on Family Tree Maker and only two on ancestry.com. Fortunately one of them is him and is the SSDI. Apparently he was living in Jacksoville when he died. I would appreciate any information at all on Melvin WORELD. Thanks again, Phil http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/f/r/e/Philip--R-Freimann/index.html Roots: McGUIRE, Fennell, Freeman, Jeffords, Meesey, ORRIS, Powell & Sharp ILLINOIS: Keensburg, Mt. Carmel, Manchester and Winchester COLORADO: Dake - MO/MISSOURI: Elvins, Eminence, Flat River, and St. Louis
There were families with the name Worrall in the area. The ones I knew were pronounced to rhyme with curl. I think the Worrall family was of English origin.
