Hi. I'm new to this list. I'm researching this family: Charles Augustus Hardwick b 31 Aug 1825 TN (son of Willis Hardwick/Anna Scoggins) d Feb 1901 Greene Co., IL Married first to Mary Jane Adcock 1850 Married 2nd to Mary C. Buckley 1864 Married 3rd to Mary Caroline Grizzle btwn 1864-1887 I am related through Charles' daughter, Sarah C. Hardwick b 19 Jul 1865 in Greene Co., IL. Here's my problem: On Sarah's marraige certificate (1887)to Benjamin Shetterly, she puts Mary Grizzle (Grissle) as her mom. I think her actual biological mom was probably Mary Buckley, because of the marraige date being abt 10 months before Sarah was born. So, who was Sarah's biological mother? I can't find any record of Mary Buckley's death (or info on her parents) or on the marraige of Charles and Mary Grizzle (need to find out her parents, also). The census info is not much help, because it lists Charles and his wife Mary (there were 3 of them, don't know which one is which!). Can anyone help? Thanks. Teri
