Hi, I am researching for info on my gg grandparents. John and Elizabeth (Morgan) (Seybold) (Innman) Colbert. Elizabeth Morgan married Eli Seybold 5 Nov. 1848 in Pike Co.,IL. Eli and an infant son died in 1850 and they are buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Pike Co.,IL. Elizabeth then married Samuel Inman/Innman 5 May 1852 in Pike Co.,IL. They were the parents of two known daughters. Sarah E. Innman and Rachel M. Innman. I don't know what happened to Samuel Innman. Elizabeth then married John A. Colbert 29 Aug. 1859 in Morgan Co.,IL. John and Elizabeth are listed on the 1860 Meredosia, Morgan Co.,IL Census. Listed living with them are John's sons by a previous marriage James Colbert and Jesse Colbert. Also, Sarah and Rachel Innman. The children of John and Elizabeth were: Lucinda Colbert born 25 June 1860 Arminda/Amanda Colbert born 25 June 1860 Charles M. Colbert born 1863- 1865 John Richard Colbert born 22 July 1866 Maille? Colbert born Nov. 1896 ( she is listed on the 1870 Meredosia, Morgan Co.,IL census with her parents and other siblings). Does anyone know what happened to Maille? Colbert??? She is not listed as living with the family on the 1880 Kirksville, Adair Co.,MO Census. Thank you. Pam
Will you send the cyclone article as an e-mail attachment? Or should I send a self-addressed, stamp envelope? My kinfolks lived in the area at that time. Don Goveia
Maybe it could be posted the Morgan Co site? That would be great! Bonnie << Yes, I would like a copy. >>
Hello, A friend sent me the article regarding the storm at Literberry, which is probably misspelled. I have not had time to check on the date. If anyone wants a copy, list your address I will mail you a copy. Lorma Ebaugh 13110 Meadow Glen Ln. Colorado Springs, CO 80908-3492

I would prefer to NOT received any bulk emails sent to listers that have nothing to do with the site I subscribed to--such as ILMAGA-L for genealogy references. This has happened before with other rootsweb sites, and I don't think our lists should be used for such. Sorry to sound such a grouch but I try and keep my email sites and addresses for my interests, not for bulk mailings. Susan Reno LeBlanc
I am looking for my husband's 3rd Great-grandfather's (Nathan Pennybacker) final resting place. We know he lived in Meredosia, Morgan County, IL from abt. 1844 to 1860's. He was listed in the 1850 and 1860 IL US Census (and not the 1870 Census). Also, we found Nathan in the 1870 US Census Mortality schedule (listed as 'Pinnebacker, Nathan; 78 Male, married, born Virginia, farmer, died December, old age). His wife, Mary, is probably buried next to him. We have not had any luck finding Nathan or any record of him in the cemeteries that are currently online. Any help you can provide would be appreciated! Thanks, Lu Ann Lu Ann Pennybaker lpennybaker@csw.com

Dear Jerry, I would be very interested in seeing any responses you receive to your inquiry. I also had ancestors living in the Jacksonville area in the 1880's. Their name was Major and I think they lived on the east side of town. Thanks for your time. Is there anything on Isaac Taylor? He was born July 24, 1829 in Ky. came to IL when he was 4 years old. He married Jane? and moved to Texas by the 1860 census. Could someone check these names for me in your area. My friend was told he was in the Springfield area and she cannot find him. http://www.geocities.com/fcruble/velmasfamilygenealogy.html
In an obituary of Corridon Cox, it states the following... "Immediately after their marriage they settled upon section 4, township 14, range 9, where they lived until May 9th, 1880, when their home with all its surroundings was swept away by a cyclone, which will long be remembered by the residents of that neighborhood." Does anyone have any newpaper accounts of the destruction or people killed or injured during this cyclone? If not, would it be possible for someone to check the May 1880 Jacksonville newspaper to see what was written? Thanks for any help! Jerry

I am currently researching marriage of David Guynn to Mary Ann Weaver on Aug 4, 1878 in Greene County, Illinois. There is a 1880 census record for David Gwin who I believe is the same David. Recently learned David spent some time in Texas also and am wondering if possibly the Gwins of Illinois went to Texas after the epidemic where a large number of families migrated to Texas. I have tied this David to a family of Guynns in Henry County, Missouri but do not know relationship to the Gwins in Illinois. I believe there is a connection between these Illinois Gwins and Missouri Guynns. June Stewart JuneStew1@aol.com
