I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about this or maybe point me in a direction to look. Alhambra Township >From the "History of Madison County" by W. R. Brink & Co. On page 551 it mentions: Jame Farris erected the first frame house in the township. it was ornamented with a brick chimney made of the first brick brought into the township. In 1838 Mr. West bought out the heirs. At the time of this writting - This house is in a good state of preservation and stands near the new residence of Mr. West. and George Farris built a "band mill" here in early times.
