No, Illinois Terminal is not a funeral home or a prognosis of a disease. It is/was (?) the Illinois Terminal Railroad. It ran passenger interurban trains from St. Louis via Venice, Madison, Granite City, etc to various Illinois towns including Alton, Springfield, etc. They also had freight service but I don't remember much except that they seemed to have a big railroad yard between Madison and Venice. It's probably been gobbled up and renamed like all of our banks by this time. I no longer live in Granite City, having settled in northern IL after WWII.
