Dottie: Sec 34 Two 6 R 8 W is about 2 mi east of Moro. Look at your Madison County map. 1873 Atlas shows "First preaching was by a Baptist missionary at home of Zenas Webster in about 1834 on Sec. 34. "The twsp is mostly prairie, interspersed with grove of oak timber, which renders it interesting The soil is pre-eminently adapted to the culture of wheat; a yield of 40 to 50 bushels to the acre is often realized. A large settlement soon followed the first settlers , (from Kentucky) etc.-------" 1906 ATLAS shows: Gaius Paddock owning 40 acres in SW corner of 34. My current plat book is not available right now.
