I know that some of the issues have been microfilmed. You might try and contact the Madison County Genealogical Society. They are based in the Edwardsville Library. The microfilm for the newspaper for that early an issue would be in that collection. If not let me know and I may be over in the general area in a week or two. I just can't committ at this point. Another possibility is the Historical Library in Springfield, they have copies of most of the papers in Illinois and will do lookups. Let me know if I can help.
