Illinois Terminal was a railroad company. My uncle use to work for them as a railroad traffic guard . Can't remember the true job title. He worked from a tower controlling which track the trains ran on. A firehelper, would have been someone who stoked the fire, with wood or coal. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Lynde126@aol.com> To: <ILMADISO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 1999 7:38 PM Subject: INDUSTRY or BUSINESS > I just received my g/grandfather's Record Of Funeral from the Funeral Home > where he had been laid out at, Smith Funeral Home, in 1943, and in the space > for Industry or business, the Funeral Director wrote in: ILLINOIS TERMINAL. > Does anyone know where the "Illinois Terminal" is, what is it, and is it > still in business.
