(I don't know if Simon ever came to the U.S.) They most likely were from Baden, Germany. Their children were: Clara born circa 1823, married Andreas BAUER, died 14 Oct 1872 in Edwardsville, IL; Michael born circa 1827 in Baden, Germany, married Anna Maria KINDERMANN on 26 Oct 1861 in Madison Co., IL; Meinhard (aka Meinrad and Nimrod) born 31 Jan 1830 in Germany, married Stephanie ARMBRUSTER on 8 Jun 1854 in St. Louis, MO, died 15 Mar 1872 in Edwardsville, IL; and Raphael born 5 Oct 1836 in Germany, married Helene HEBERER on 19 May 1863 in Edwardsville, IL, died 6 Feb 1918 in St. Louis, MO. Raphael stated in the 1900 census that he emigrated to the U.S. in 1850.
