Hello- Just joined the mailing list, I thought I had before, but apparently not. I'm looking for the "Naturalizations & Intentions of Madison County, IL: An Index 1816-1900. Edwardsville, IL: the compilers, 1983. 163p" Compilers were Shelley, Jane, & Elsie M. Wasser. There are two entries for Jacob ANDRES, both 'places' state IL, one for the year 1860 & one for yr. 1892. Source code is 8368, source page #3. I have a Jacob ANDRES in my lineage, and he was born abt 1839 in Switzerland. I don't know when he came to US, but he married Eliza from IL, and their first child, Perry Washington ANDRES, was born Dec 1864 in IL. Some old family records say he was born in Madison County, but I haven't found proof. Could someone please help me with finding the above book and Jacob ANDRES, and also birth record of Perry ANDRES, may have been written down as ANDREWS, please?
