I am looking for a record of my grandmother's birth she was born 28 Jul. 1909 in Granite City, IL. Her name was Mae/Mabel/Melaine NICHOLAS her parents were Gustav and Katherine nee PESHA/PECHA. I am not sure of my grandmothers given name she went by all three at different times. In my county we have a birth index in the library for the years 1860 to1920 it gives name date of birth and parents.
