My German great-grandfather served in the Civil War with the MO 15th Regiment or "Swiss Regiment,"the likely reason he later settled in Highland. Just started reading the war memoirs of Maurice Marcoot, a Highland soldier from same Regiment and Co B. Marcoot states that the regiment's Swiss flag "made by the ladies of Highland" which they later hoisted atop Missionary Ridge was returned to the city during their reinlistment furlough. Does anyone know if the city, a historical museum, etc. still has this flag? Is it displayed?
