Actually Elwick is shortened for Helwick. Elwick is my Grandmother Grace's maiden name. And she married Edwin Faitz. Elwick's and Faitz's came from Germany back between 1840 and 1850 to Madison County. They settled in the Black Jack Farming Community right next to Collinsville.
