Upper Alton Cemetery was originally that - Upper Alton Cemetery. Then at some point people decided that other than Upper Alton residents were being buried there and it shouldn't have that name so it was changed to the street that runs south of it - Oakwood Cemetery. Now it's referred to by both depending on how you grew up with the name. However, phone directory entry has it listed as Upper Alton Cemetery.
