I've probably asked this before, but does anyone know if there are any birth records available from 1877? Looking for my great grandmother. Supposedly born in Alton. Mother was Kate Webb, unsure about the father. Possibly William Ryan, although it was said that she was raised by the Ryan family. I think she used the last name Ryan. Her name was Bertha. Also have seen it as Alberta Elizabeth. I have death cert., but have been unable to determine who her father was. Any advice welcome. Thanks, Kathy B.
