They were originally from Lawrence Co., IN. I am not sure what time frame they lived in Madison Co, because Riley served in the Civil War enlisting while living in Lawrence Co. He married my great grandmother Matilda Jane Ray in Madison Co. I thought they had eloped because she was quite younger than he. Seems as if she took care of his first wife until she died. However the witness on the marriage license was her mother Rebecca Chapman Ray. I know there are still some Jones relatives over there because a couple of years ago one lady contacted me was how I found out. But she was moving from relative to relative and I have lost contact with her.
