hello group! I am new here... so I thought I'd send out a general email! I am interested in this area also ... my great grandparents immigrated from Lithuania and settled in PA for the first few years. They later moved to Madison. William Yakstis worked the coal mines and once his sons were old enough, they too worked the coal mines. I'm curious is anyone else has Lithuanian ties to this area. I am interested to here about this ethnic group to this area and what coal mines were actually active during this time. I have read a lot on the coal mines in northern Illinois and even southern illinois... However, information on Madison County is limited. Please add the these surnames: Falkenberg, Falkenburg, Heidinger,, Jackson, Jones, Krohn, Löhe, Malench, Marten, Quade, Stroud, Suhre, Quade. Lorraine there is a photo, late thirties-early forties, of seven people and one child. Three of the people are identified as Olga Williams, Rika and Charles Quade. The others are unkown. Perhaps the other two women are the Quade daughters. May I sent this photo for placing on you web site with the query who are these unknown people and what was the event.marriage?
