Hi, No, the Catholic Children's Home in Alton is not an orphanage any more, but is used as a school for problem children. My husband and his brothers and sisters lived at the Home from time to time. He and I went to visit it last year. They said they still have the records of the children who had lived there. Hope this helps. Judy

I need to find out if an Armstrong family is living in Madison Co in 1900. Does anyone have access to an index? I've looked thru every ward for Alton City area and so far no luck.
