I don't know if Elinor has responded or not, but she's probably correct about the surname Braasch spelling. I grew up in Bunker Hill IL just across the Madison-Macoupin Co IL and know there was a Carrie Braasch that lived in Bunker Hill when I was growing up in the 1950's and 1960's.
