I don't have records for Alton Cemetary, but I have a book that shows Madison co. deaths. Here is what is listed: Chester Sherman, died: 31 Oct 1881, Mitchell Twp Jane Sherman, died 2 Feb 1878, Nameoki Twp it doesn't list a place of burial for them. I hope this helps you.
