Bertha Widman > ARNOLD, Rose b. 1890 OH, d. 1934 Highland, IL > WAGNER, (female) b. circa 1890 m. Elliot Gruenenfelder > WIDMAN/WITMAN family of Saline,IL and Grantfork, IL area ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- Robin, My secret VERY VERY secondary source has the following. PLEASE CONFIRM ALL WITH PRIMARY SOURCES FOR YOURSELF. Sorry to take so long to reply; I've had a monster of a flu. John Jacob AMBUEHL b. 11 Mar 1862 in Highland, Madison Co, Illinois, USA d. 26 Oct 1897 place unk. 1st Married Bertha WIDMAN, b. 28 Aug 1863 place unk, d. 10 May 1886 in Grantfork, Madison Co, Illinois. 2nd Married Mathilda WEHRLI, b. 1877 in Highland, d. 03 Jul 1957 in Highland. Date of 1st marriage unknown. Date of 2nd marriage 06 Aug 1889 in STAPLEHURST, NEBRASKA. Children UNKNOWN. Rose C. Henke ARNOLD b. 01 Jun 1890 d. 9 Apr 1933. I would say that her maiden name was HENKE/HENCKE, another Highland area surname, but Robin says she was born in OH. I have no info on her ARNOLD husband. She also married Charles Elliot GRUENENFELDER, b. 20 Aug 1884 in Millersburg (formerly Baden Baden), Bond Co, Illinois, d. 09 Mar 1970 in "Mascoutah, Clinton Co, IL." This place has some sort of mistake, because Mascoutah is in neighboring St. Clair Co. Charles Elliot GRUENENFELDER also had another wife, Helen Katerine WAGNER, b. 17 Feb 1882 in Pierron, Bond Co, IL, d. 08 Jul 1924 in Alton, Madison Co, IL. Children listed under Helen are Paul, Robert, Orville Leo, Felton John, Alberta Helen, and Esther Rose (all GRUENENFELDER). I have more on children. I have 32 other WIDMANs and 1 other WITMAN, with dates ranging from 1836 to present. It is important to understand that these data are completely disjointed and unconnected. I could have 32 different events on one family, or 32 events on 32 different families. It's like having the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle loose in a box, but I don't know if the pieces are from 1 puzzle or 32 puzzles Bon Appetit', Larry Wernle [email protected]
