Thanks so much, Debbi! I have a feeling that it probably slid down into the dirt and got covered by mud and weeds. I'm so glad that I took a picture of it! There are no probate records listed in Madison County. Unless she died in Clinton County, my photo might be the only record of her death date! Mr. Morgan's list is a blessing to those who are researching ancestors in Helvetia Twp. A whole bunch of my ancestors are on his list, including some important ones whose stones I didn't find.
