Woo-Hoo, Folks, We now have free parking during the week! (Remember, parking is free at the meters all day on Saturdays). Here's how it works. The number of spaces is fairly limited - hopefully, if it is a big success, more spaces will be made available. The spaces are in the large parking lot on the corner of 15th & Olive. If you have a handicapped sticker or tag, use spaces numbered 58-60. The other spaces are numbered 32-44 in the center section of the parking lot. Once you have parked your car, stop at the issue desk (just inside each entrance - where you would check out books), and you will be given a parking slip. When you are ready to leave the library, you will turn your parking slip in for a token to exit the parking lot. The slip/token system was arranged to prevent misuse of the spaces by people paying parking tickets or doing other business in the area. If you get into the lot and can't find a designated space, park somewhere else and go into the Central-West building right next to the parking lot. There is a guard just inside the door to resolve the problem. Signs will be put up presently. So come down, park for free in a closed lot, and enjoy our outstanding services, staff <g>, and collections. Please call us at (314)539-0385 if you have any questions. Sincerely, Kathy Smith Librarian, History & Genealogy St. Louis Public Library
