Can anyone out there give me any advice on where to start researching a murder that occurred in 1921? I recently received my g-grandfather's death certificate and it indicated that his death was a homicide. I am interested in learning more about the circumstances surrounding his death. His name was John Kaiser, his wife was Maggie Kaiser, the date of death was April 3, 1921. The certificate is signed by an Edward Mercer of Granite City, Ill and John was buried in New Methodist on April 7, 1921. The undertaker is listed as a JE Mercer Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am stationed overseas and have only internet to do research/communicate. Thank you for your assistance -- Le'Royce "Not what we gain, but what we give measures the worth of the life we live" -Mrs. Zelma Thompson

Try his obituary which might lead to other news coverage. This email will get you volunteers in Madison County. In the subject put Madison County and the person's name you are asking the obit for. IL-OBITS-L@rootsweb.com Hope this helps!.
