    3. Coleen, You are a wonder!! I have received the copies of the death, marriage and birth records. One question. I am just a tad bit hesitant about the birth records. I haven't read through everything I received today, but if those folks are still living, I wouldn't feel comfortable putting those docs on line. I might do the names, and dates, no years, and other info, but for the rest, I would feel better if I knew if they were still with us. I usually use the 1910 cut-off date for stuff like that. Let me know.... And thanks again!! Lorraine

    3. Kent, John Schrader's wife, Anna, died one month prior to his death, Anna died April 1942, and John died May 1942. Anna died at the residence of her daughter, Doris Schuermeyer; and the city directories for St. Louis confirm that this was Doris' address. Doris signed John's death certificate. Laura Schrader (Baumann) owned the plots where she and John are interred, plus her mother and sisters are interred there also. Laura signed her mother's death certificate as Laura Schrader. I have John Schrader's death certificate, but none for Anna. The funeral director is now out of business. Sunset Memorial Park says that Laura Schrader made all of John Schrader's arrangements. Your suggestion of animosity between Doris and Laura could be significant. As the daughter, she would sign the certificate for her father, but not want to handle any of the arrangements, thus leaving it to Laura. I have one more option which I have to consider. I found a Charles G. Schuermeyer who died in California in 1982 and there appears to be a listing for a Charles Schuermeyer in that area - so a telephone call is a possibility. I've got to approach this with kid gloves. Am still stumped on this one. 1. Re: [ILMADISO-L] Surname HUSSEY
    2. Sheryl, Sometimes those little mistakes made by family on documents such as census, death certificate, etc. can prove to be a blessing instead of a curse. I've been researching my g, g, grandfather. Family lore, later verified by his civil war pension records, was that he had been in both the confederate and then the union army. I found a record of someone from LA who was injured in the exact battle where my ancestor was injured (Perryville, KY) I also found an obvious misspelling of his name on the passenger and immigration list for N.O. I still felt that need for a little additional validation that would connect him to LA. In a census about 20 years after he died, his son stated on the census record that his father was born in LA. I think that is a pretty good validation. My ancestor was born in Ireland and immigrated to this county. After swearing the oath of allegiance to the U.S., he next fled to Madison County where he later joined the union army. So, I've learned not to get irritated about errors and red herring information. Sometimes it really does lead somewhere. Good luck in your searching. 3. Name: Laura Schrader SSN: 488-30-7002 Last Residence: 63147 Saint Louis, Saint Louis City, Missouri, United States of America Born: 2 Oct 1898 Died: Aug 1972 State (Year) SSN issued: Missouri (Before 1951 ) This from SSDI, her SS-5 may tell you her marital status when she applied. Ancestry.com does not have St. Louis's papers so no wedding announcements found online. I do not know if you could find them on micro film or not. but finding the marriage would be a needle in the hay stack! 3. Laura It was not to long, confusing yes! Is it possible that Laura & John marriage was the second for both? That John first married Anna and that she passed away between 1930 and John's death 1942. or divorced? John then married Laura. John bought a second set of plots so he could be buried next to Laura. For Laura's mother obit to work her first marriage would have to be to another SCHRADER. Laura's first husband could have died between 1924-1930. Laura then moved back in with her step dad. Which could have confused the census taker. Remember obits are written by people that just lost a loved one. Often have mistakes. Doris as a step daughter to Laura might not have like her Laura. Have you check for old City Directories? Does the cemetery have records when the plots were bought? Cemetery records might list the Funeral Home. Funeral Home records might shed some light Have you ordered all the Death Certs? Love a Mystery BUT wow! 1. Obituaries.
    2. Dewey Everts
    3. Good morning all. I am looking for the last obituaries of the Everts children and spouses of Peter and Anna Schulz Everts Peter Everts Jr died January 19, 1916 in New Douglas his wife, Bernardina Voss Everts died May 6, 1947 in Bond County. (Greenville county seat) And Etta (Henriette) Hambrock Everts died on February 3, 1960 (living in New Douglas but place of death unknown, probably nursing home). and Minnie Everts Mansholt died February 3, 1945, New Douglas and husband Harry Mansholt died June 18, 1928 New Douglas. I have no computer and find it most difficult finding obituaries. Everything else seems to be much more simple to locate. It is a lot to ask of you, but I would like to complete my genealogical journal before my tenure on earth. Rev. Dewey Leon Everts Jr.

    3. How old were they in the 1930 census, if you can find them in the 1930 census, it will list age at first marriage (for both). That would at least give you the year. 3. I'm having similar problems! My grandfgather was married to a woman before he married my grandmother. They were divorced in 1937.... I can not even find him in the 1930 census.... I've looked in surround counties including St. Louis. What a pain! I have found his father, William Yakstis but the son, William (Bill) Yakstis has yet to be found.. nor his wife; Ruth Voss. He's from Madison County but moved to St. Clair County after he met my grandmother.... I even checked there! Ugh... How frustrating! Nichole -- Researching: Bates <http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy/bates>, Yakstis <yakstis/index.htm>, Jakstys <http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy/jakstys>, Slapelis <http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy/slapelis>, Vilaniskis <http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy/vilaniskis>, Dagys <dagys/index.htm> and Motiejunas <http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy/motiejun> For more information please visit http://www.yakstis.net/genealogy laura30@cox.net wrote: >Kent > >Thanks for the information. 3. Kent, This is truly an odd situation. Laura's mother died in 1929 and in her obituary she named Laura SCHRADER. However, in the 1930 census Laura is living with her stepfather, and her stepsister. I have found her husband? John married to an Anna Schrader (Romag) in the 1920 and 1930 census. Here's another odd bit; Laura Schrader is interred at Sunset Memorial Park and next to her is John Schrader. John's supposed wife, Anna, is also interred at Sunset Memorial Park, but in a different section and John Schrader owned that grave! John died in May 1942 - obituary states widower of Anna - his daughter, Doris signed his death certificate. Laura's obituary in 1972 states widow of the late John Schrader. In the April 1930 census, Laura was listed as the wife of George Remshardt, but again, this is an error as he was her stepfather, and it also says that she was married at the age of 25 which would have been approximately 1924; Laura was born October 1898. Again, thanks for your help - hope this wasn't too long an explanation of this mystery. 3. Kent Thanks for the information. Both of these people were residents in St. Louis and there is no record of their marriage.
