    1. Re: [ILMADISO-L] Baker
    2. What year was Absalom Baker born in? Saying senior/junior isn't very helpful since the term often wasn't used on census records. I find Absalom in the 1880 census as being 12 years old and his mother is Nancy, but do not know if this is senior or junior. Send me a little more info and I'll be able to do a better search. 3. Hi again, The (Harel?) in the census is actually Howel (Howell). Howell's last know whereabouts was in Fairplay, Park Co., CO. in 1870, unmarried. Possibly going on to Colusa Co. CA by 1871. Land Purchase in that state in 1871 lists a Howell Davis as buyer. No more census records are found for him in CO. or any other state after 1870. However in the 1882 History of Madison Co., IL. page 538 it just states that at the time of publication Howell was living in the "western country'.. Thanks once again. 1. Re: [ILMADISO-L] Request Name Search.
    2. Census records did not begin listing nativity of parents until the 1880 census and Ezekiel would have been dead by then since he was born in 1790. I did check the 1880 census just in case. I did find an Ezekiel Davis in IN in 1860, but again it only listed him as being born in NJ. My problem is I am so in need of death records (obituaries would be wonderful, funeral home records also would be wonderful, burial sites, too!) Can anyone tell me how to go about getting an obituary (circa 1892 Letitia Watson) from Morgan Co. or a death record from 1863 (Edward Watson died from complications of Civil War), and their children? 3. I am looking for information on Riley Jones and some of his children who lived in Madison Co. They were originally from Lawrence Co., IN. I am not sure what time frame they lived in Madison Co, because Riley served in the Civil War enlisting while living in Lawrence Co. He married my great grandmother Matilda Jane Ray in Madison Co. I thought they had eloped because she was quite younger than he. Seems as if she took care of his first wife until she died. However the witness on the marriage license was her mother Rebecca Chapman Ray. I know there are still some Jones relatives over there because a couple of years ago one lady contacted me was how I found out. But she was moving from relative to relative and I have lost contact with her. Janice
