    2. I know of the one same time period that hit Troy. I read about it in a Biography at the DAR library, but I do not have the name of the book. I know many people died, and they said they didn't bother with the Germany community in Troy since they mostly spoke German and many people didn't show much interest in their plight. The church that would have been involved was a Ev., Lutheran there in Troy but I do not know where the records for that church are.

    3. Hi. You might want to try http://www.anywho.com/ and just put in Osborn and Homer and you will find three in California and one in Alton. I didn't see anything on the others but there are other locators on the web, too. This might mean those people had listed telephone numbers the last time the telephone books were published. ---------- From: MADMANSMOM@aol.com To: ILMADISO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Osborn-VanWinkel Date: Sunday, October 25, 1998 12:36 AM In a message dated 98-10-25 01:55:27 EDT, you write: << Hi, I am new to this list and I am hoping someone can help me find some Aunts and Uncles that I have never met. 3. May I suggest you order an Alton Phone Directory at 1-800-541-8000 from Ameritech. It contains addresses and phone numbers for Alton and all the surrounding areas you mentioned. There are listings for the last names you mentioned who may be relatives. This method has proved useful to me in locating missing relatives. Judy Clark-Wick JWick@compuserve.com
