    1. Gillham
    2. Tina M Hursh
    3. I have hit a dead end in locating my Gillham ansectors and hoping that someone on the list may be able to help. My gr-gr grandfather is Louis Oscar Gillham. He was born in IL. L.O. married Elizabeth Jones who was from KY. They had three children, all born in IL: Fred (b. 1877 in Lincoln, Logan Co, IL ), William Oscar (b. 1881 in Edwardsville, Madison Co, IL), and Nellie (b. 1887 in Lincoln, Logan Co, IL). L.O. moved the family to Lima, Allen Co, OH abt 1899. L.O. then moved without the family to Kenmare, ND abt 1901. He then died in an accident on 24 May 1904 (in Kenmare). I am not sure who L.O's parents are or when he was born. It is thought that he may have been possibly 50 at time of death. Any help or information on the family would be greatly appreciated. 1. Bruce/Carlock
    2. Yesterday at the FHC, I found a listing for the marriage of Peter M. Bruce and Sarah Carlock on June 21, 1838 in Madison County, IL. There is no other information at FHC. I will write to the Madison County court house, however, if anyone out there is researching Bruce or Carlock or knows anything at all about either one of them, please contact me. I have been looking for Sarah for a very long time and I want to know everything! Thanks. Sharon Vista, CA

    3. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about this or maybe point me in a direction to look. Alhambra Township >From the "History of Madison County" by W. R. Brink & Co. On page 551 it mentions: Jame Farris erected the first frame house in the township. it was ornamented with a brick chimney made of the first brick brought into the township. In 1838 Mr. West bought out the heirs. At the time of this writting - This house is in a good state of preservation and stands near the new residence of Mr. West. and George Farris built a "band mill" here in early times. 1. German Sources on the Internet
    2. The URL "http://www.bawue.de/~hanacek/info/edatbase.htm" works just fine. The words Table of Contents incidentally are NOT part of it. Is that the problem? Just copy it and paste it into your browser. And don't copy the quotation marks either. By the way, there is no real need to requote the entire message when commenting. Requoting in entirety really loads up the stuff to wade through for those of us that prefer the so called "edit mode" for getting our messages. As long as I'm at it take a look at the FAQ of your choice at THIS URL: "http://pegasus.adnc.com/~websites/lynnd/gfaq.html" DW in MN
